Problem:
John contacted us regarding a section of his conservatory guttering that had come loose and was hanging off the side of the structure. Not only was the damaged section unsightly, but it was also failing to channel rainwater correctly, leading to water spilling directly over the area where the conservatory met the home. This posed a risk of localised damp and needed urgent attention.
Solution:
We removed the damaged guttering and the failed clips. To ensure a seamless look that matched the rest of the conservatory, we sourced replacement components that aligned with the existing profile. Once the parts arrived, we installed new, secure clips and the replacement guttering section, ensuring the fall was perfectly adjusted to match the surrounding system.
Challenges:
The primary challenge for this project was the age of the original conservatory installation. The specific profile of the guttering was no longer available at standard building merchants. We had to conduct a detailed search to locate a specialist online supplier of these discontinued parts to ensure we could provide a professional, like-for-like match that did not require a full system replacement.
Result:
John was pleased to see the conservatory roofline fully restored and the unsightly hanging section removed. The system is now back to full working order, effectively managing rainwater and preventing further issues. The client was particularly satisfied that we were able to source the correct parts, allowing us to fix the specific problem without the disruption or cost of replacing the entire conservatory guttering system.
