Problem:

Following recent high winds in the area, David contacted us because a section of his downspout had completely detached from the running outlet. With the downspout disconnected, rainwater was discharging directly against the side of the property wall rather than being channelled away. This left the brickwork vulnerable to saturation and potential damp issues, requiring a swift intervention.

Solution:

Our team prioritised this job to ensure the property was protected before any further rainfall. We arrived on-site to inspect the connection point and ensure the surrounding guttering remained stable. We then professionally reconnected the downspout to the outlet and installed additional heavy-duty fixings to ensure the pipework was firmly attached, preventing any chance of it coming loose during future high winds.

Challenges:

There were no technical complications with this repair. The primary challenge was the need for a rapid response. Given the potential for water damage to the property wall, we gave this project high priority to ensure the system was restored to full working order for the customer as soon as possible.

Result:
