Problem:

Martyn contacted us regarding his upper-level gutters, which had become severely clogged with a dense build-up of silt. The accumulation was so significant that greenery was actively growing out of the channels, obstructing water flow and posing a threat of overflow that could damage the property’s exterior walls.

Solution:

Our team performed a comprehensive clearing of the entire upper gutter system. We manually removed all compacted silt and organic vegetation to ensure the channels were completely clear. We also carried out a final flush of the system to confirm that all downpipes were open and that rainwater could once again be directed safely away from the building.

Challenges:

The primary challenge for this project was the difficult access between neighbouring properties. The side gutters were positioned in a tight space, making it impossible to position our ladders safely from one side alone. To ensure the safety of our team and the integrity of the property, we proactively coordinated with the neighbours to obtain permission to access their garden. This allowed for optimal ladder placement and enabled us to complete the clearing thoroughly and safely.

Result:

The gutters are now clean and fully functioning. Martyn was satisfied with the efficient service and the professional manner in which we navigated the access challenges. The roofline is now clear of debris, protecting the property from the risk of water damage throughout the coming season.
